Privacy & your data

This explains what the current DC Cam service stores, how recordings are handled and how to contact us about your data.

Account and camera information

We store your username, name, email address, password hash, paired camera identities and connection keys in protected forms, subscription references, licence counts and service settings. Camera reports can include battery level, device information, sensor events and location history.

Recent crash and recovery diagnostics can include app and Android versions and technical error details. These are linked to your account and can be viewed, downloaded or cleared from Settings → About. The server copy is limited to 16 KB per camera.

Your account email is used for verification, password recovery and service messages. Alarm delivery follows the email and Telegram options selected in your notification settings.

Recordings and retention

The camera device keeps separate rolling stores for continuous recording and saved events, each limited to 1 GB. Only retained event clips are uploaded to DC Cam Cloud.

Each paid Cloud camera has a rolling 1 GB event buffer. The oldest recordings are replaced when that buffer fills. Download clips to keep your own copies. Location history and event reports are stored separately from the video buffer and are bounded by service limits.

Cancelling renewal does not automatically delete existing uploaded recordings. You can view, download and delete retained uploads in Settings → Recordings & storage. Operational backups may also contain account data and recordings.

Access and security

Camera connections and browser access use HTTPS. Accounts are intended to access their own paired cameras. Recordings are not end-to-end encrypted: authorised Deployed Consultancy service administrators can access stored data to operate and support the service.

Alarm emails and Telegram messages may contain a sign-in link. Anyone you forward that link to may gain access to your account while it remains valid. Keep those messages private. Password changes invalidate other sign-ins and existing alarm sign-in links.

Other services

  • Revolut handles payments. Card and bank details are entered with Revolut; DC Cam stores subscription status, amounts and payment references, not card numbers or bank details.
  • Email delivery uses our configured mail provider. Account messages and any enabled alarm emails pass through that provider.
  • Telegram receives alarm details and selected uploaded clips when you enable Telegram notifications.
  • OpenTopoMap and Esri supply map tiles. Loading a map sends your IP address and requests for the geographic area shown to the selected map provider.

Browser storage

The web app uses a sign-in cookie and remembers preferences such as sound muting and map style. Passwords are not kept in browser local storage.

Contact, access and deletion

For account closure, data access or deletion requests, contact contact@deployed-consultancy.com. Include your username so we can identify the account; do not send your password, pairing codes or payment card details.
